MORE

Hardy Leucanthemum Real Charmer, also known as Shasta Daisy Real Charmer, is a stunning perennial plant that belongs to the Asteraceae family. This particular cultivar is renowned for its beautiful and large yellow white daisy-like flowers with yellow centers that bloom in abundance from late spring to late summer.

The Leucanthemum Real Charmer is a relatively new cultivar, having been bred in the Netherlands in the late 1990s. It is a hybrid of the Leucanthemum maximum and Leucanthemum superbum species, which are both native to Europe and Asia. The Real Charmer was introduced to the market in 2000, and since then, it has become one of the most popular cultivars of the Shasta Daisy.

One of the most striking features of the Leucanthemum Real Charmer is its flowers. The flowers are large, with a diameter of up to 4 inches, and they have a classic daisy shape with white petals and yellow centers. The flowers are borne on sturdy stems that can grow up to 3 feet tall, making the plant an excellent addition to any garden or landscape.

Another appealing feature of the Leucanthemum Real Charmer is its foliage. The plant has bright green leaves that are deeply lobed and slightly toothed. The leaves grow in a rosette pattern at the base of the stem and become smaller and more sparse as they ascend the stem.

Leucanthemum Real Charmer is a low-maintenance plant that is easy to grow and care for. It prefers full sun but can also tolerate partial shade. The plant is relatively drought-tolerant but should be watered regularly during hot and dry weather. It also prefers well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter.

One of the advantages of the Leucanthemum Real Charmer is its long blooming period. The plant produces flowers from late spring to late summer, providing color and interest to the garden for several months. Deadheading spent flowers can encourage the plant to produce more blooms, prolonging the blooming period even further.

Leucanthemum Real Charmer is an excellent choice for a variety of garden styles. It works well in traditional cottage gardens, mixed borders, and informal or naturalistic gardens. The plant also looks great in large containers or as a cut flower in floral arrangements.

Leucanthemum Real Charmer is also attractive to pollinators, such as bees and butterflies. The flowers provide a good source of nectar and pollen, making them an essential plant for supporting local wildlife.

Overall, the Leucanthemum Real Charmer is a beautiful and versatile plant that is sure to add interest and charm to any garden or landscape. Its large, showy flowers, attractive foliage, and low-maintenance requirements make it an ideal choice for both novice and experienced gardeners. Whether planted in mass groupings or used as a specimen plant, Leucanthemum Real Charmer is a delightful addition to any garden.
