Stipa tenuissima Pony tails is a perennial grass with erect narrow bright green leaves, and soft feathery greenish white flower panicles ageing to buff throughout summer, remaining ornamental until late autumn.

Its fine foliage and feathery flowers make it an excellent accent plant, and it can be used to add texture and movement to borders, rock gardens, and containers. It grows to a height of 80cm. and spreads to 60cm.forming a vase shaped plant, flowering from June to August. Plant in full sun. Hardy.

This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring
